PEACOCK INSPIRED EMBROIDERY

Har gjort några fler nya kuddar till min soffa för att pigga upp med lite färg. Jag hittade även ett stycke i mina gömmor med en petit point design jag gjorde för 25 år sedan. Jag var väldigt inspirerad av Kaffe Fassett och fick idén till designen när jag sett massa mäktiga påfåglar vid ett besök till Kew Gardens i sydvästra London. Meningen från början var att brodera en sits för en stol men jag gjorde aldrig klart den och stolen den var ämnad för har jag inte längre. Så nu när jag hittade den så började jag klippa ut de påfågelsliknande ögonen på broderiet och ska applicera dem på några kuddar. Den tredje bilden visar eventuellt hur jag ska lägga dem men just nu lutar det åt att sy fast den på ett par svarta kuddar.

I have done some more new cushions for my sofa to brighten it up with some colour. I even found a piece in my stash with a petit point design I did 25 years ago. I was very inspired by Kaffe Fassett and got the idea for the design when I saw lot of powerful peacocks during a visit to Kew Gardens in southwest London. The intention from the beginning was to do embroidery for a chair seat but I never did finish it, and the chair it was designed for, I do not have anylonger. So now when I found it I started cutting out the peacock-like eyes of embroidery and will apply them to a few pillows. The third image shows how I possibly will add them but I think I will sew them onto a pair of black cuchions. I will show you when they are ready. Below you can see how the petit point design was from the beginning and how I have cut them out.

"Ögat" till vänster är baksidan och den mellersta och den till höger är rättvänd.
"The Eye" on the left is the backof the petit point and the middle one and on the right is right side up.
