Jag gjorde en enkel illustration med den latinska texten Omnia Vincit Amor – Kärleken besegrar allt.
Fast jag tänkte att de kunde sätta ett kort från bröllopsdagen i den sedan ifall de vill.
Brudparet är båda flerspråkiga, tolk och lingvist/filolog.
I made a simple illustration of the Latin text Omnia Vincit Amor - Love conquers all.
I thought that they could put a photo from the wedding in the frame if they choose to.
The bride and groom are both multilingual interpreter and linguist / philologist. |
Igår var jag på ett fantastiskt vackert bröllop. I Katolska kyrkan på Kungsträdgårdsgatan och en vacker promenad till Skeppsholmens Folkhögskola där bröllopsfesten hölls i Segelsömmarsalen i södra fundamentshuset. Det sägs att det är Sveriges äldsta rum utan pelare i sin storlek, 140 kvm så de kunde lägga ut sina segel. Ett vackert rum med fantastisk utsikt åt alla håll. Jag satt vid middagen och blickade över mot Wasamuseet och Nordiska museet. Jag hade fixat alla dekorationer.
Gjort bordslöpare av tapetprover från de tapetböcker jag tidigare köpt på mig,
se tidigare inlägg som gave en unik känsla till atmosfären. Jag washitejpade ihop med varannan silver tejp (silver= feminint) och varannan med guldtejp (guld= maskulint). Bruden ville ha fågeltema och jag klippte ut massa olika fåglar av tapeter som jag trädde på fiskelina och med organzaband som vi hängde upp i en hjärtformation ovanför brudparet och runt väggarna och över det fantastiska matbuffén. De fladdrade till när vinden tog tag i dem och gav ett levande uttryck. Jag gjorde placeringskort av duvor som jag skrev gästernas namn på samt en liten turturduvor med hjärta som bordsuppsats som placerades framför brudparets.
Det var en lågbudget och sista minuten planering, vi hade bara 2 timmar på oss att omvandla salen innan vigseln. Vi fick ihop det på ett fint sätt som reflekterade känslan av just detta brudpar. Fantastiska tal, underbar musikalitet och sång framfördes från bådas släkter och vänner. En dag att minnas, det vackraste bröllop jag varit på, en stämning som genomlöpte hela dagen. Tacksam för att få tagit del.

Yesterday I went to a stunningly beautiful wedding. In the Catholic Church at Kungsträdgårdsgatan in Stockholm and then a beautiful walk to Skeppsholmens Folkhögskola where the wedding reception was held at Sails stitches hall in the southern foundation house. It is said that it is the oldest room without pillars in its size, 140 square meters so they could put out their sails. A beautiful room with great views in all directions. I was sitting at dinner overlooking the Vasa Museum and the Nordic Museum. I had fixed all the decorations for the reception.
I made table runners out of wallpaper samples from the wallpaper books I previously purchased, see previous post that gave a unique feel to the atmosphere. I taped together with every other one with washi tape (silver = feminine) and next with gold tape (gold = masculine). The bride wanted a bird theme and I cut out lots of different birds of wallpapers that I tread with fishing line and with organza ribbon that we hung up in a heart formation above the wedding couple and around the walls and over the stunning food buffét. They fluttered as the wind took hold of them and gave a vivid expression. I made place cards in love doves shape that I wrote guests' names on and a love doves with a heart centerpiece that was placed in front of the bride and groom.
It was a low budget and last minute planning, we only had 2 hours to convert the room before the church ceremony. We got it together in a nice way that reflected the feeling of this particular wedding couple. Great speeches, great musicians and singing were performed from both their families and friends. A day to remember, the most beautiful wedding I have been to, a loving mood that ran through the entire day. Grateful to have taken part of it.
