THAI SILK BIRTHDAY CARD

Så här kan man också göra ett grattiskort. En bit thaisiden där jag penslat kanterna med textil decoupage lacklim så att det inte trådar sig. Skrivit med textilpenna, klistrat på handgjort rispapper klippta applikationer samt blomma och fjäril är gjorda i decoupage. Stryk och fixera! Bind fina band och silkestrådar runt! Voilá!

Here is another way how to make a birthday card. A piece of thai silk where I brushed the edges with textile découpage mod podge so that it won´t threads itself. Texted with fabric pen, pasted on some handmade rice paper cut applications, and a decoupage flower and butterfly. Iron and secure! Tie nice ribbon and silk yarn around! Voilá!

MATCHING CUSHION

Känner för att förnya lite i lägenheten och har börjat med att sy nya kuddar. Den första blev just klar. Har tagit upp färgerna från min stora målning som hänger ovanför soffan och blandat thaisidentyger med ett sammetstyg som är reliefvävt för struktur (den randiga svart/vit/grå). Baksidan är i svart linnetyg och för första gången satte jag dit kardborrband i mitten på baksidan istället för att sy dit ett blixtlås.
Bra tips när man ska sy i sidentyger eller andra tyger som lätt repar upp sig är att limma lite med textillim i kanten innan man zigzagar tyget.


I want to do some redecorating in my flat and started to sew new cushions. The first was just finished. Have taken up the colors from my large painting that hangs above the couch and mixed Thai silk fabrics with velvet that has a embossed woven structure (the striped black / white / gray). The back is in black linen and for the first time, I put velcro on the back instead of sewing a zipper in the centre.
Helpful hints for sewing in silk or other fabrics that easily unravels is to glue some fabric glue to the edge before you zigzag the fabric.
